I would thank you for your inspiring questions and meaningful communication, which leads me to dig out something I didn't pay much attention to:
With the help of the web, I realize that any image viewer including web broswers fall into either of the two categories: one enbling to recognizing the embedding color profile of an image file, or the other without the capability. It looks like the latest version of web browsers are mostly capable to "use" the embedded profile to display pictures in their 'own' color. Firefox 2 and IE 6 or 7 may not be enbled by default, while Firefox 3 is, and IE 8 in some cases needs "to turn on". However, browsers usually do not "change" image quality during displaying, i.e. the undergoing image contains its existing resolution even though 'depressed' during displaying.
Certainly quite many programs were unfortunately not designed with such a feature for color space management such as Frame Maker Pro. Since some of the programs has the editing function and they degrade the quality of the image after processing. Frame Maker 'automatically' drops information of the input image file and output with lower resolution ones. This may be why the color of the image after bordering looks the same when showing in other color-sensitive programs but looks not as 'vivid' as before it went through Frame Maker - lost bits of colors.
In short, (1) I appreciate your suggestion for using color-profile-aware browsers (or the more advanced versions), (2) while showing image in lower leveled browsers may bore viewers' eyes, it would cost/waste you more if you let your products - generated by advanced equipment - go through lower leveled editing software, dumped tons of information your device created :)
No matter what, it's all about color space. Do embed some sophisticated color profile with your image during advanced editing, because soon or later, or one way or the other, a vivid picture will shine :)
